  • Course Learning Outcomes, Objectives and Expectations

    Biomaterials is the intersection of Biology and Materials Science including engineering. The multidisciplinary nature of biomaterials address the complex issues with designing and implementing new biomedical devices. Students taking this course expand their knowledge about biomaterials, crystal structures and defects physical, chemical and surface properties of biopolymers as well as degradation of biomaterials. However, this course will provide knowledge about not only biomaterials and their properties but also the immune response to biomaterials. The class includes lectures, labs, homework, quizzes, and review paper presentations participated by students in the class.
